OK I decided to translate this to set the record straight about the surgeries and to put some fights into perspective. Of course it's not the sole reason he lost the fights he did but here it is.
Timeline of the surgeries since OWGP he talks about:
October 2006: Foot surgery, couldn't train kicks for three months
-he fought Sanchez in February 2007 and Gonzaga in April 2007 with basically not being able to train kicks or very little
Gonzaga period: Gonzaga fight fucked his knee up. He had 4 surgeries on the knee
The date of the first 2 surgeries aren't mentioned but I presume it was shortly after Gonzaga.
July 2008: Huge knee surgery. I assume this is the third knee surgery.
The japanese called him to fight Overeem in September 2008. He accepted altough dr. Hudec told him he's insane and shouldn't be fighting.
I remember this surgery was about removing pieces of his knee and required a follow up reconstructive surgery for the knee to be able to function properly.
Mirko took the fight with Overeem instead and no wonder he was able to take him down so easy.
Januray 2009:
4th knee surgery (reconstructive follow up surgery I mentioned earlier)
June 2009
The stitches were still fresh when he decided to fight Al Turk. Again the doctor advised him not to take the fight. Mirko said he could hardly lift his leg and was very worried Al Turk might injure his knee.
September 2009
Fight with JDS. His knee was still recovering and had hard time kicking.
He doesn't talk about it but to make the list complete he had a herniated disc coming into the Mir fight.
Crocop, stooooooooooooooooop please!!
